A short hike into Glacier Park at mile 102 of the Glenn Highway allows you to see and photograph a part of Alaska you'll never see from the highway. The Matanuska Glacier offers several interesting routes to choose from. Specialized ice-trekking gear and instruction is provided, so you can safely explore the glacier's most interesting ice formations and lakes.
2 hour Matanuska Glacier Tours are just $55 per person (including park entry fee)

Matanuska Glacier Ice Climbing Trips

6 hour ice climbing instruction or trekking
$130 per person (2 person minimum)
2-5 Day Matanuska Glacier Ice Climbing Adventures
If you're interested in taking ice climbing to the next level, this trip is for you! This is a custom trip geared toward your interests. You can spend your days with intensive ice climbing instruction, working on beginner to advanced skills, or focus on techniques for anchor placement for climbing on your own. Camp at the base of the glacier or, with more than one night, you can travel up and camp on the glacier. You can gear your trip toward exploring the glacier or climbing the many different ice walls.
No experience necessary.
$275.00 per person, 2 days 1 night, 2 person minimum, ages 12 and up. $150.00 each additional day.
Provided: All the technical gear for climbing, all meals during trip and camping gear
You Bring: Hiking Boots, a day pack, sunglasses, sunscreen, gloves, rain gear, warm fleece clothing and lunch. Boots available, please reserve your size.
