Copper River Princess Lodge
The Copper River Princess Wilderness Lodge opened in Copper Center, Alaska in May 2002. The Lodge, located near the Wrangell St. Elias National Park, faces four of the major peaks in the Wrangell Mountain Range. The lodge has been carefully positioned to feature a view of 12,010-ft. Mt. Drum from the 20’ window wall.
Sitting atop a bluff in a poplar and spruce forest, the lodge overlooks the Copper and Klutina Rivers, and part of the Trans-Alaska pipeline.
This premier Princess Lodge features 85 rooms and suites with either mountain or forest views; a two-level dining area with wonderful mountain views; and the focal point of the Copper River Princess Wilderness Lodge- the Wrangell Room- with a staircase that takes you to the mezzanine level where you can relax and enjoy the majestic scenery provided by a two story wall of windows.
Located just four miles from the Wrangell-St. Elias National Park visitor's center, the Copper River Princess Wilderness Lodge offers fine dining in the Two Rivers Restaurant, and a full menu in the Whistle Stop Bar. In addition, the Whistle Stop features wines, cocktails, blended drinks, and many Alaska-brewed beers.

There is a hiking trail system from the lodge which connects to the Klutina River Trail, a 26-mile path along the bluff overlooking the river, leading to remote Klutina Lake.

Getting into Wrangell-St. Elias National Park
During your stay at the Copper River Princess Wilderness Lodge, view the stunning icefields and glaciated peaks of the Wrangell and St. Elias Mountain Ranges from the air, on a fixed wing flightseeing tour.
Or spend the day near the geographic center of the park, with a flight-seeing day trip into McCarthy and Kennicott. This guided tour includes a round-trip flight to the historic town of McCarthy, a visit to the abandoned Kennicott copper mine, now a National Historic Site, and lunch at the Kennicott Glacier Lodge.
Take a scenic drive north and explore the Tok cut-off to Slana and the Nabesna road, northern entrance to Wrangell-St. Elias National park.
Heading south on the Richardson Highway, the (paved) Edgerton Highway leads 33 miles east to Chitina and the McCarthy Road. Daily flights and van excursions are availabe from Chitina.
Valdez is just a 2.5 hour drive south.
All rooms and suites feature either a king size bed or two queen size beds, private baths, and mountain or forest views. Reservations require the first night's stay for deposit; the balance is due at check-in. Princess Lodges now have a 3 day cancellation policy.
