Chitina House B & B
The Chitina House Bed and Breakfast opens in mid-May and provides fine lodging in a historic building in Chitina, Alaska. The ghost town of Chitina was once a booming supply town during the era of the Kennecott Copper Mine and the Copper River Northwestern Railway.
Today, Chitina is an ideal overnight destination for travelers visiting McCarthy and the Wrangell St. Elias National Park. Chitina is the end of the "paved road" and the start of the 60 mile gravel road to McCarthy. In the summer there is daily scheduled air service and daily scheduled van service to McCarthy from Chitina.
Chitina House B & B is the historic site of the Copper River and Northwestern Railway Bunkhouse and Mess house, and is listed on the National Historic Register. Located across from Town Lake, rooms at the Chitina House are very comfortable, retaining their character from the 1900s.
Each room has a queen size bed and a shared bath. Your stay includes a continental breakfast in the morning. A deposit is required to confirm your reservation at the Chitina House B & B.
